When looking into Almighty God's work of the last days online, the main character feels it provides him with plenty of spiritual sustenance. But to his surprise, when his pastor finds out about it, he forces him to delete the contact information for brothers and sisters from The Church of Almighty God. He's forced back to his old church's services, but doesn't feel nurtured by them at all, leaving him feeling miserable. Even worse, his wife, egged on by the pastor, also starts working to keep him from investigating God's work of the last days. In spite of the constant roadblocks and oppression, he becomes certain that Almighty God is the Lord Jesus returned and gains discernment over the clergy's behavior. He, along with his wife, accepts God's work of the last days in the end.
