The Lord Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem – Bible Story

The Triumphal Entry (Matthew 21:1-11) And when they drew near to Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, to the mount of Olives, then sentJesus two disciples, Saying to them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway you shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them to me. And if any man say ought to you, you shall say, The Lord has need of them; and straightway he will send them. All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, Tell you the daughter of Sion, Behold, your King comes to you, meek, and sitting on an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strewed them in the way. And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.   » You might be interested in:  • God Is Almighty, but Why Did Jesus Redeem Us by Crucifixion? • Revealing the True Meaning of the Coming of the Son of Man • 3 Aspects to Unravel Mystery of Incarnation of Jesus

Jesus Heals Two Blind Men – Bible Story

Two Blind Men Receive Sight (Matthew 20:29-34) 29And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him. 30And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, you son of David. 31And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, you son of David. 32And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will you that I shall do to you? 33They say to him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. 34So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

The Feeding of the Five Thousand – Bible Story

The Feeding of the Five Thousand (Matthew 14:13-21) 13When Jesus heard of it, he departed there by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities. 14And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. 15And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. 16But Jesus said to them, They need not depart; give you them to eat. 17And they say to him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. 18He said, Bring them here to me. 19And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and broke, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. 20And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. 21And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

The Lord of the Sabbath – Bible Story

The Lord of the Sabbath (Matthew 12:1-8) 1At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungered, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat. 2But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him, Behold, your disciples do that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath day. 3But he said to them, Have you not read what David did, when he was an hungered, and they that were with him; 4How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? 5Or have you not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? 6But I say to you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. 7But if you had known what this means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the guiltless. 8For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. Jesus Heals on the Sabbath (Matthew 12:9-14) 9And when he was departed there, he went into their synagogue: 10And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. 11And he said to them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? 12How much then is a man better than a sheep? Why it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. 13Then said he to the man, Stretch forth your hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other. 14Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

Jesus Calls Matthew – Bible Story

Jesus Calls Matthew (Matthew 9:9-13) 9And as Jesus passed forth from there, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said to him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. 10And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. 11And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, Why eats your Master with publicans and sinners? 12But when Jesus heard that, he said to them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13But go you and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.   » Read more on our Jesus’ Disciples page, or click on the related articles below: • Gospel Reflection on the Lord Jesus’ Appearance to Thomas the Apostle • Why Did the Lord Jesus Approve of Peter’s Faith? • Leaven of the Pharisees – Gospel Reflection on Matthew 16:6

Jesus Healing the Bleeding Woman and Raising of Jairus’ Daughter – Bible Story

The Healing Touch of Jesus (Matthew 9:18-26) 18While he spoke these things to them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay your hand on her, and she shall live. 19And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples. 20And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 21For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 22But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; your faith has made you whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. 23And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, 24He said to them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleeps. And they laughed him to scorn. 25But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. 26And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.

Demons Cast into Pigs – Bible Story

Demons Cast into Pigs (Mark 5:1-20) 1And they came over to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. 2And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, 3Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: 4Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. 5And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. 6But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, 7And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the most high God? I adjure you by God, that you torment me not. 8For he said to him, Come out of the man, you unclean spirit. 9And he asked him, What is your name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. 10And he sought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. 11Now there was there near to the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. 12And all the devils sought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. 13And immediately Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. 14And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. 15And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. 16And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine. 17And they began to prayhim to depart out of their coasts. 18And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. 19However, Jesus suffered him not, but said to him, Go home to your friends, and tell them how great things the Lord has done for you, and has had compassion on you. 20And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.
