Testimony of Healing of a Brain Tumor: Obeying God, I Saw God’s Deeds

A Serious Disease Suddenly Befell My Husband

One day in October of 2016, my husband, who worked in another city, unexpectedly called me to say that his limbs felt weak and that he was going to come back to have a check-up. After hanging up the phone, I thought to myself: He is so young, so what illness could he get? Potassium deficiency also produces such symptoms. Is it because he lacks potassium? It’s fine that he comes back to have a check-up and he must be all right after taking some medicine.

After my husband came back home, we went directly to the Central Hospital of our city. The next day, his examination reports were out and we took them to the doctor. After seeing them, she frowned and looked my husband up and down, saying: “It’s strange. People at such a young age should not get this kind of disease.” Hearing that, I asked her nervously: “Doctor, what disease does my husband get?” Then she showed the x-ray to me and said: “There’s a clogged blood vessel in the brain. To be precise, he has had a cerebral infarction.” My husband said: “Recently, I’ve had a CT examination in another city. The doctors also suspected that I had got a cerebral infarction, but because the examination was not detailed, they were not sure and asked me to have a further examination.” The doctor nodded and said: “But more seriously, there is a tumor inside your brain, and we don’t know whether it is benign or malignant. If the tumor is malignant, the treatment of cerebral infarction will be likely to cause the tumor to rupture at any time, and you will have to undergo brain surgery. Thus, you can’t be treated for your cerebral infarction yet and should have a further examination of the tumor. There’s no equipment for such an examination in the hospitals of our city, so if your household conditions are better, you’d best go to Beijing to have the examination.” Hearing there was a tumor in my husband’s brain, my heart immediately tightened and I nervously asked: “Doctor, what examination should my husband have?” She answered: “Have a DSA. It is to insert a catheter into an artery in the leg and pass it up to the vessel in the brain to confirm whether the tumor is benign or malignant. If it is malignant, then your husband needs to have a craniotomy surgery to remove it.” At last, she gave us a hospital’s address in Beijing, a doctor’s name and phone number, and suggested we go there to see him directly.

Faced With My Husband’s Serious Disease, My Intention of Believing in God for Blessings Was Revealed

That day, hearing what the doctor said, I was stupefied and couldn’t believe this result. I thought: How did this happen? My husband was always in good condition. Why has he suddenly got this serious disease? I really couldn’t accept this fact and felt extremely awful. When we walked out of the hospital lobby, I said to my husband: “Let’s go to the People’s Hospital to see if we can have the examination there.” He agreed. Then I walked out the hospital gate and my husband walked behind. Suddenly, I heard a sound of something falling down. I looked back, and it turned out to be my husband knocking down an electric scooter parked by the roadside and falling back. I hurried to pull him, but he still fell to the ground. He wanted to talk to me, but he was incapable of speaking clearly because his tongue couldn’t bend. Seeing this, I couldn’t stop my tears from flowing, feeling everything seemed to cave in on top of me. I hurried to flag down a taxi and took my husband to the People’s Hospital of our city. After getting into the taxi, my tears flowed fast. I felt so painful and helpless, and unconsciously, I began to complain about God: “Oh, God! I believe in You and follow You. Why are You not protecting us? Why has my husband gotten this disease? He is only 28 years old! Why have I encountered this? Now my husband has fallen sick, and our two children are so young. How can we go on living?” At this time, I remembered the patients suffering from a cerebral infarction who I had seen before: Some sat in wheelchairs, some limped with crutches, and even worse, some had been bedridden for more than ten years and unable to care for themselves…. At the thought of the scenes, I was very afraid. If my husband is paralyzed, what should I do?

After arriving at the hospital, I found a place for my husband to sit and then rushed to the emergency room. When seeing the doctor, I said with tears: “Doctor, my husband can’t walk, and he is sitting outside now. Please go and see him.” Then my husband was put on a drip and wheeled into a ward. When the attending doctor saw my husband, he said in surprise: “How come he has this disease at such a young age?” Later, I noticed that all the other neurological patients on the same floor as my husband were at the age of 40–80. Some of them had facial distortion, some couldn’t look after themselves, some babbled nonsense, and some were confused and blank. When some relatives of the patients saw that my husband was so young, they all said: “Why is he here?” “He is so young. Why did he get this disease?” Hearing these, I thought: Could it be that in the future my husband would be the same as these patients? At the thought of this, I became really afraid and my nerves were tense.

Having finished the admission procedures, I came back to my husband’s ward. Sitting beside the head of his hospital bed, I looked at him in silence. However, I couldn’t calm down. In panic and helplessness, I prayed to God silently: “Oh, God! Faced with this, I don’t know what Your intentions are for me. I’m very afraid now. If anything terrible happens to my husband, how will our family live? Oh, God! Everyone’s life is in Your hands. Please save my husband!” I called on God all the time, hoping that my husband would be fine. By afternoon, he became a little better. Although his limbs were still weak, his brain became more conscious and he could get up and walk by himself. However, my heart was still in worry and suspense, worrying that my husband’s brain tumor would be malignant.

The Enlightenment of God’s Words Made Me Understand His Will

Because my husband had a seizure, we quickly went into the hospital without any preparation. Therefore, after everything was handled, I returned home to fetch some clothes and toiletries that night. When my in-laws asked me what had happened, in order not to concern them, I didn’t tell them the truth and just said that my husband should be hospitalized for his backache for several days. That night, thinking of my husband’s disease and the thoughts I had revealed in the day, I knelt down and prayed to God: “Oh, God! I have followed You for a long time, but I have not yet known You, and I complained to You when my husband fell sick. Oh, God! Faced with my husband’s sudden disease, I don’t know what Your will is. I ask You to enlighten me and lead me so that I can understand Your will and find the way to practice.” After praying, I read a passage of God’s words: “So many believe in Me only that I might heal them. So many believe in Me only that I might use My powers to drive unclean spirits out from their bodies, and so many believe in Me simply that they might receive peace and joy from Me. So many believe in Me only to demand from Me greater material wealth. So many believe in Me just to spend this life in peace and to be safe and sound in the world to come. So many believe in Me to avoid the suffering of hell and to receive the blessings of heaven. So many believe in Me only for temporary comfort, yet do not seek to gain anything in the world to come. When I brought down My fury upon man and seized all the joy and peace he once possessed, man became doubtful. When I gave unto man the suffering of hell and reclaimed the blessings of heaven, man’s shame turned into anger. When man asked Me to heal him, I paid him no heed and felt abhorrence toward him; man departed from Me to instead seek the way of evil medicine and sorcery. When I took away all that man had demanded from Me, everyone disappeared without a trace. Thus, I say that man has faith in Me because I give too much grace, and there is far too much to gain.

After reading God’s words, my heart was bright and clear, and I also understood some of God’s intentions. On the surface, my husband’s disease was not a good thing, but it served as the pretext for me to see the impurities in my belief in God. I recalled that in the past when God arranged the environments for me which were in accordance with my will—my family supported my faith in God and my husband was able to earn money, I had faith in God and was willing to fulfill my duty. At that time, I always thought I was loyal and loving toward God. But now when my husband fell ill and was likely to be paralyzed and thus there would arise problems with my whole family’s livelihoods, my heart was filled with misunderstandings about and complains toward God, thinking that I believed in God and had satisfied Him, so He should bless me and make sure everything went smoothly in my family and I should not encounter unhappy things, much less disasters. With the truth before me, I saw that my belief in God was in order to receive blessings and grace and to try to make a deal with God. In order to save us, God had paid a large price and had performed much work on every one of us, but I only wanted to gain blessings from Him, and required Him to cure my husband. I was too selfish and despicable and too unreasonable! I was not a true believer at all! Then I came before God and prayed: “Oh, God! Although my husband doesn’t believe in You, he is also a created being. Whether his disease can be cured or not or whether or not he will have any sequelae are both in Your hands. I’m only a created being, so I shouldn’t have any unreasonable demands for You. Oh, God! You are righteous toward everyone. Regardless whether my husband’s disease will get better or not, I’m willing to experience Your work and obey Your orchestration and arrangements. Even if my husband doesn’t get well, I will still believe in You, fulfill my duty properly, and stand testimony to satisfy You.”

I Saw God’s Wonderful Deed

The next day, the doctor did a detailed examination for my husband, and the result would be out three days later. During that time, I kept praying to God over and over, without daring to leave Him for even a moment. On the day of the result being out, I told my husband’s disease to my mother-in-law when I returned home to fetch some things. Although she was miserable after hearing the news, she said to me: “Everyone’s life is in God’s hands. Let’s obey God’s arrangements.” I nodded my head. However, what was out of my expectation was that, when we were willing to obey God, my husband called me at noon to say that: “The result has been out, and it shows that my brain tumor has disappeared.” I said in astonishment: “Really? That’s so great!” I was really excited and in my heart I couldn’t stop thanking God. I knew all of this was God’s sovereignty. It’s really true that all things, living or lifeless, are under God’s rule. Just when I was happy, my husband said to me: “But I’m afraid that the doctor didn’t tell me the truth. You go to ask him about the result this afternoon when you come back.” Then I went back to the hospital hurriedly, wanting to know what my husband’s condition exactly was. When I asked the doctor, he said: “I’m also very surprised that your husband’s brain tumor suddenly disappeared in a few days. But don’t worry. His brain tumor has really disappeared. And now he can receive treatment for his cerebral infarction without any misgiving.” On hearing this, I was so happy that I felt like jumping for joy. I knew this was God’s wonderful deed. Then I quickly ran to my husband’s ward and said to him excitedly: “Don’t worry. I asked the doctor just now, and he told me that your brain tumor has really disappeared.” When he heard this, the worried expression disappeared from his face.

I Deeply Felt God’s Salvation

When I told this news to my mother-in-law after I returned home that afternoon, she said happily: “Thank God! God’s power is indeed something that we can’t fathom. He can create something from nothing and can cause something to become nothing. Everything is ruled by Him.” I nodded my head excitedly. My husband’s brain tumor disappeared by itself in such a few days without being operated on; from this I truly experienced God’s authority and power. Then I went back to my bedroom, kneeled on the floor and prayed with tears: “Oh, God! I give You my thanks and my praise! From this matter, I have seen Your wonderful deed and have seen Your wisdom and almightiness. You said: ‘God does the work of perfection on people, and they cannot see it, cannot feel it; under such circumstances, your faith is required. People’s faith is required when something cannot be seen by the naked eye, and your faith is required when you cannot let go of your own notions.’ When I was willing to reverse my incorrect perspective of believing in God and willing to trust You and obey You, I saw Your hand. This has strengthened my faith in You and also increased my confidence. Oh, God! Your deeds are truly wonderful! Starting from today, I will learn to obey You and rely on You in everything, letting You lead me to walk my future path. Thank God! Amen.”

In the following days, my husband recovered rapidly and soon he didn’t need to be cared for and could handle everything by himself. Only when he was put on a drip did he need someone watching out for him, and after that, he could go out for a walk by himself. When he had been in hospital for six days, the doctor said to him: “I’ll do an examination for you, and if there is no problem, you can leave hospital tomorrow.” We had never thought that my husband could be out so soon, because all patients suffering from the disease need to be hospitalized for two or three months. The patient beside us had been in hospital for three months and all his four children were tired of taking care of him. He was muddle-headed, needed others to look after his basic necessities, and often wet his bed, which made his children frequently scold him. Knowing that we were about to leave the hospital, his son was jealous and said: “See how fortunate you are. My father has been in hospital for three months and still can’t be out, while you can be discharged so soon.” Hearing his words, I was more grateful for God’s protection and grace. Originally, I thought my husband would be in hospital for at least a month. What I didn’t expect was that after being in hospital for only 7 days he could come out, and that after a period of rest he could work as normal. I really thank God.

Through this experience, I have seen God’s love for me, the painstaking care and thought that God put into saving me, and His almightiness and sovereignty. Although this environment brought me some pain and refinement, it corrected my perspective of believing in God and made me have more faith to follow God. From now on, regardless of what I encounter, I will rely on God, be firm in following God, and fulfill my duty properly to repay God’s love. Thank God! All the glory be to almighty God!
