God’s Name in the Old Testament

Exodus 3:15

And God said moreover to Moses, Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, the LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial to all generations.

Exodus 20:7

You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain.

Exodus 34:14

For you shall worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

Isaiah 43:10–11

You are my witnesses, said the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no savior.
